Harry potter fans answer please?

Snape is certainly not a hero but not quite a villan either. He was twisted and conflicted. He was a double agent working for Dumbeldore and also for You-know-who. He never renounced being a Death Eater. He despised Harry as the son of his enemy James Potter and was motivated to protect Harry as the son of Lilly. Snape is a very sad and damaged personality. He shared the memory with Harry when he was dying but that was probably for revenge against the dark lord. Snape was never motivated by anything except self-interest.
