What do you suppose Paula Abdul meant when she told Simon his song should be "Paint It Purple"?

She started by saying that she thought that "Paint it Black" was one of his favorite songs and then said "oh no, maybe it's paint it purple". He was puzzled by her comment but brushed it off. I have my own idea about what she meant but I'd like to hear you all have to say about this.
